# Hub Security

The hub is more critical than relayers; if compromised, all cross-chain assets will be lost. The foremost problem is how to bootstrap hub security. The traditional way is to distribute cross-chain fees to hub security providers using the hub token as the staking asset and gas fee.

Other options include paying [restaking security](https://medium.com/oct-network/restaking-the-ac-moment-of-decentralized-trust-6d6cf02618e9) or [interchain-chain security](https://cosmos.network/interchain-security/) with cross-chain fees. Setting up the hub as an L2 is also considerable; cross-chain fees can cover DA and L1 costs.

Regardless of the method used, remember that for a system to be sustainable in the long term, its operating costs must ultimately be borne by its users.

While there is no such thing as a free lunch in the world, there is almost free security if you know where to look.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://omnity.gitbook.io/litepaper/challenges/hub-security.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
